In our house and in our school, we embrace this time of the year that invites us to slow down and prepare. Year by year, we've gotten better as a family to manage the cultural frenzy that the world participates in, and mark this time centered on Christ and preparing our hearts and minds for the Christmas season, which hasn't arrived yet, by the way.
As far as homeschooling goes, we are only schooling half the day. We have a Morning Time, complete a math lesson, and read together and call it a day. The afternoons we've spent decorating, baking, Christmas shopping -- preparing our home and hearts for Christmas. This past Tuesday we remembered the Feast of St. Nicholas by making Speculaas cookies. They were delicious! This coming week I'm hoping to get some personal reading accomplished per my last post.
